Short Description : West Central Railway is going to recruit 4,517 persons for the posts of ‘Trackman’, ‘Helper’, ‘Khalasi’, ‘Parcel Porter’, ‘Safaiwala’ & ‘Assistant Pointsman’ in Group ‘D’ Category through Railway Recruitment Cell, West Central Railway, Jabalpur.
Detail Description :

Candidates, who have passed Matriculation (Class X) or its equivalent examination of any recognised Board / Council / Institute are eligible for the post. Candidates, who have passed Trade Certificate Course from any recognised ITI or its equivalent may also apply. Candidates, who are appearing or awaiting results of final examination of 10th Standard are not eligible. Age should have to be between 18 and 33 years as on 01.01.2014. OBC & SC / ST candidates will get relaxation in age by 3 years & 5 years respectively. Widows, Divorced women, women judicially separated but not remarried / Ex-Servicemen / PWD candidates will get exemption in age as per the Rules. Scale of Pay is Rs.5,200/- – 20,200/- with Grade Pay of Rs.1,800/-. Number of vacancy is 4,517 (UR : 1,823, SC : 544, ST : 271, OBC : 976, EXSM : 903), out of which OH :45, HH : 45, VH : 45.

 

Mode of Selection : Selection will be made on the basis of Written Examination followed by Physical Efficiency Test. The Written Examination of 90 minutes duration will consist of 100 multiple choice objective type questions of 1 mark each based on the syllabus of 10th standard covering the following 4 subjects : (i) General Knowledge & Awareness, (ii) Mathematics, (iii) Reasoning & (iv) General Science. There will be negative marking of 0.33 marks for each wrong answer. The language of the question paper will be in English / Hindi / Urdu language. Qualified candidates in the Written Examination, will be called for Physical Efficiency Test (PET). In the case of male candidates, the PET will consist of 1000 metres run, to be completed within 4 minutes & 15 seconds. But for female candidates, the PET will consist of 400 metres run to be completed within 3 minutes & 10 seconds. PET will not be conducted for PH candidates. Selected candidates will have to undergo Medical Examination. The date, time & venue of the Written Examination & PET will be intimated in due course.
How to Apply : Candidates should have to apply on plain A-4 (210 × 297 mm) size paper as per the format given on this website : www.wcr.indianrailways.gov.in The duly filled in Application should have to be enclosed with the following documents : (1) 1 copy of passport size photograph not more than 1 month old (to be affixed on the top right hand box of the Application Form), (2) Self-attested photostat copies of all Certificates & Mark Sheets in support of Date of Birth, Educational Qualification, Caste (for SC / ST / OBC), Disability (for PWD), Discharge (for EXSM), Experience (if any), (3) Self-attested photostat copy of Requisite Certificate in case of candidates claiming any other type of age relaxation, (4) Self-attested photostat copy of Income Certificate in case of Economically Backward Class candidates (whose family income is Rs.50,000/- p.a.) as per the format given below, (5) Self Declaration for the candidates belonging to Minority Community as per the format given on the website mentioned above, (6) Crossed Indian Postal Order / Demand Draft of Rs.100/- drawn in favour of ‘fa & cao, West Central Railway, Jabalpur’ payable at ‘Jabalpur’. No fee is required for the female / SC / ST / PH / EXSM / Minority candidates and the Economically Backward Class candidates, whose family income is less than Rs.50,000/- per year. Candidate should have to mention his / her name & address on the back side of the Crossed Demand Draft or in the space provided in IPO. In Column No. 7, candidates should have to write appropriate Code of Religion, which is as follows : For Hindu : 01, Muslim : 02, Sikh : 03, Christian : 04, Buddhist : 05, Jain : 06, Parsi : 07 & Others : 08. For age relaxation, candidates should have to write the Appropriate Code in Column No. 13, which is as follows : For OBC : 02, for SC : 03, for ST : 04, for OH : 05, for VH : 06, for HH : 07, for EXSM : 08, for Judicially Separated Woman / Widow : 09, for SRF : 11 and for Quasi Administration Staff : 12. Column No. 16 is for Fee Exemption. Eligible candidates will write ‘Yes’ & ineligible candidates will write ‘No’. The envelope containing the duly filled in application should have to be superscribed as ‘Application for Recruitment in Pay Band-I of 5200/- – 20200/- with G.P. 1800/- (Erstwhile Group ‘D’ posts) West Central Railway along with Community …….
