On-line applications are invited for the following courses of the University for July, 2015 Session

1. COURSES OFFERED BY SCHOOL OF HUMANTIES: MA in (1) Bengali,
(2) English (3) English language Teaching.
2. COURSES OFFERED BY SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCES: M.A. in (1) Political
Science (2) Public Administration (3) History
Eligibility for Sl. 1 & 2: Graduate (10+2+3) of any recognized university and has studied at least 300 marks in respective subject and passed successfully (For M.A. in English Language Teaching: English / Linguistics. For M.A. in Public Administration: Public Administration /Pol. Sc./Sociology / Economics).
3. COURSES OFFERED BY SCHOOL OF EDUCATION: M.A. in Education.
Eligibility: Graduate (10+2+3) with Education or other Graduate (10+2+3) with B.Ed. / B.Ed. (SEDE) of any recognized university.
4. COURSES OFFERED BY SCHOOL OF SCIENCE: M.Sc. in (1) Mathematics (2) Geography (3) Zoology.
Eligibility: Graduate (10+2+3) of any recognized university in respective subject for Geography and Zoology. For Mathematics: Preferably Honours Graduate (10+2+3) in Mathematics. Other Graduate (10+2+3) may be considered if they have studied at least 300 marks in Mathematics at UG Level and secured at least 55% marks in Mathematics. In Geography and Zoology admission will be made strictly on the basis of merit through counseling for limited number of seats following reservation policy of the Govt. of W.B.
COURSES OFFERED BY SCHOOL OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES: (1)M. Com (2) M.A. in Social Work (MSW), (3) Master of Library & Information Science (4)Bachelor of Library & Information Science.
Eligibility:
For M.Com.: B.Com. / BBA Graduate (10+2+3)of any recognized university. For M.A. in Social Work: Graduate (10+2+3) with sociology /Political Science / History / Public Administration /Economics / Anthropology of a recognized university and has studied at least 300 marks in any one of above mentioned subjects and passed successfully.
For Master of Library & Information Science: Bachelor of Library & Information Science (BLIS)of recognized University / Other Graduate (10+2+3) with at least 300 marks of study in Library Science / Library & Information Science / Information Science.
For Bachelor of Library Science: Honours Graduate (10+2+3) with 45% in Honours subjects / 50% in aggregate for pass Graduate (10+2+3) of a recognized University / in-service candidates having not less than 3 years experience in a substantive post not below clerical grade in a Govt. organization or equivalent (NOC & LPC required) are exempted from requirements of minimum marks.
RELAXATION OF MARKS: Marks relaxation as per rules of Govt. of West Bengal applicable for reserved category of candidates.
COURSE DURATION: Master of Library & Information Science and Bachelor of Library and Information Science are of 1 year duration (registration will be valid for 3 years). All other Post Graduate courses are of 2 years duration (registration will be valid for 5 years).

Admission in study centres is provisional subject to determination of eligibility by the University at the time of giving enrolment number. If any discrepnancy is revealed later, responsibility will rest on the applicant and his/her admission will be cancelled and no claim for refund of fees will be entertained. Students are, therefore, advised to satisfy themselves as regards their eligibility for particular course before taking admission in a study centre.

On- line applications are invited for Entrance Test to B. Ed. Spl.Ed.(M.R/ H.I/ V.I)-ODL,(Equivalent to General B.Ed. Course) Session 2015-17 by Netaji Subhas Open University
Last date of submission of on-line Application Forms 21/06/2015 till 12.00 midnight
ELIGIBILITY a) Candidates should have at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree* and/or in the Master’s Degree in Sciences/ Social Sciences/ Humanities, 4 years Bachelor’s or 3 years Second Degree Bachelor’s Programme in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the programme.
*Bachelor’s Degree with Hons. may be determined either on the basis of Hons. Marks only or on the basis of Hons. marks and marks of the Pass Subjects taken together.
Relaxation of marks for the Reserve Category candidates is admissible as per rules of State Government. b) The reservation and relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD and other categories shall be as per the rules of State Government.
c) However, weightage to be given to the candidates fulfilling any one of the following conditions:-
1) Parent of a child with disability
2) Person with disability possessing Disability Certificate issued by the Competent Authority
3) Possession of any RCI approved Diploma/ Degree (With Valid CRR No.). ·
