To qualify as an Indian resident abroad, a candidate should be an Indian who expects to live, work or\u00a0study\u00a0outside India for at least 12 months continuously as of December 15, 2012. Overseas candidates who expect to be resident in India during the period July 1, 2012 to December 15, 2012, will, however, have to take the Institute\u2019s Common\u00a0Admission\u00a0Test (CAT). The second stage of the\u00a0admission\u00a0process, i.e. personal interviews, will be held in India. Candidates called for this stage will have to make their own travel arrangements and produce evidence of having qualified for the \u201cOverseas Candidates\u201d\u00a0category.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Placement:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">PGP graduates have been employed in a wide range of companies from public sector,\u00a0private\u00a0sector and multinational corporations. In recent years, recruiters have included Amazon, Accenture Services Pvt. Ltd., Arthur D Little, A T Kearney, Citigroup Global Markets, Credit-Suisse, Bain &amp; Company, Barclays Capital, Booz &amp; Company, Deloitte Consulting, Deutsche\u00a0Bank, Goldman Sachs, Hindustan Unilever, HSBC, IBM India, Cadbury Kraft, McKinsey &amp; Co, Morgan Stanley, Nomura International, Oliver-Wyman, Procter &amp; Gamble,\u00a0Reliance\u00a0Industries Ltd., Reserve\u00a0Bank\u00a0of India,\u00a0SuperMax, Tata\u00a0Administrative\u00a0Services, The Royal\u00a0Bank\u00a0of Scotland Group, The Boston Consulting Group, Wipro, Yes\u00a0Bank. About 8260 PGP alumni today occupy top managerial positions in industry, within and outside the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Last date :<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The last date for receiving completed\u00a0applications\u00a0from overseas candidates at IIMA is: December 15, 2012.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Faculty :<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Members of the faculty at IIMA, numbering about 90, design and lead all teaching, research and consulting programmes. Many are involved in the Institute\u2019s academic administration and governance. IIMA\u2019s faculty members are distinguished by their sustained research contributions in various areas of management and related areas and strong practitioner-oriented teaching and consulting.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Eligibility &amp; Selection Procedure of IIM Ahmdabad<\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The candidate must hold a Bachelor\u2019s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)\/ Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) category this is relaxed to 45%), of any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or\u00a0declared\u00a0to be deemed as aUniversity\u00a0under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent\u00a0qualification\u00a0recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The Bachelor\u2019s Degree or equivalent\u00a0qualification\u00a0obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary\u00a0schooling\u00a0(10+2) or equivalent. For computing the\u00a0percentage, the marks obtained in all the subjects as mentioned in the mark-sheet in all the years will be taken into account.In case of the candidates being awarded grades\/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the\u00a0university\/institution from where they have obtained bachelor\u2019s degree. In case the\u00a0university\/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by IIMA by dividing obtained CGPA with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant with 100.<br \/>\nCandidates appearing for the\u00a0final year\u00a0bachelor\u2019s degree \/ equivalent\u00a0qualification\u00a0examination\u00a0and those who have completed degree requirement and are awaiting results can also apply. Such candidates must produce a certificate from the Principal\/Head of the Department\/Registrar\/Director of the\u00a0university\/ institution certifying that the candidate is currently in the\u00a0final year\u00a0\/ is awaiting final results and has obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC\/ST\/DA category) based on latest available grades\/marks. Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the\u00a0programme\u00a0provisionally only if they submit a certificate latest by June 30, 2013 from the Principal\/Registrar of their college\/institute (issued on or before June 30, 2013) stating that they have completed all the requirements (the results may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the bachelor\u2019s degree\/ equivalent\u00a0qualification\u00a0on the date of issue of the certificate. Their\u00a0admission\u00a0will be confirmed only when the candidate submits the mark sheet and a certificate of having passed the bachelor\u2019s degree \/ equivalent\u00a0qualification\u00a0referred to in the certificate issued by the Principal\/Registrar with at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC\/ST\/DA category). It is mandatory for the\u00a0final year\u00a0students, who are provisionally admitted, to submit the mark-sheet and degree certificate of the\u00a0final year\u00a0Bachelor\u2019s degree\u00a0examination\u00a0(including supplementaries, if any) held on or before June 30, 2013, to be eligible for\u00a0admission\u00a0to the Post Graduate\u00a0Programme\u00a0batch 2013-15.\u00a0The deadline for submission of the mark sheet and the certificate is December 31, 2013. Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the\u00a0provisional\u00a0admission. IIMA would not allow any candidate to join their\u00a0programme\u00a0in case the candidate is unable to complete all the requirements for a bachelor degree on or before June 30, 2013. The IIMA would also not offer\u00a0admission\u00a0to any candidate after June 30, 2013.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Selection Procedure :\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The selection of candidates for\u00a0admission\u00a0to the 2013-15 batch of the PGP at IIM Ahmedabad is a two-step process.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the first step, candidates are short-listed for personal interviews from among candidates who have a valid CAT\/GMAT score* who have\u00a0applied for\u00a0the\u00a0programme\u00a0and who satisfy the\u00a0eligibility\u00a0criteria for the\u00a0programme.\u00a0An overseas category candidate who applies with a GMAT score instead of a CAT score should have a total scaled score of at least 700.<\/p>\n<p>A candidate\u2019s prior academic record is also used in the short-listing process.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Short listing Criterion :<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>70% weightage is given to the CAT\/GMAT score and 30% weightage is given to the Application Rating Score<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Post-Graduate\u00a0Programme\u00a0in Management (2013-2015 Batch) Admission\u00a0Procedure for Overseas Candidates Indians resident outside India, and foreign nationals, fall under the \u201cOverseas Candidates\u201d\u00a0category.
