CSIR will hold the Joint CSIR-UGC Test Tentatively on Sunday\u00a020th December, 2015<\/strong>\u00a0for determining the eligibility of the Indian National candidates for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) NET and for determining eligibility for appointment of Lecturers (NET) in certain subject areas falling under the faculty of Science & Technology<\/p>\n

The award of Junior Research Fellowship (NET) to the successful eligible candidates will depend on their finding admission\/placement in a university\/ national laboratory\/ institution of higher learning and research, as applicable<\/p>\n

The\u00a0final result of Joint CSIR-UGC test\u00a0<\/strong>for\u00a0Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Lectureship<\/strong>,\u00a0National Eligibility Test (NET)<\/strong>Will be declared by CSIR<\/p>\n

Roll numbers of successful candidates shall be available on CSIR HRDG website\u00a0www.csirhrdg.res.in<\/strong><\/p>\n

A candidate may apply either for \u2018JRF + Lectureship\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0both or for\u00a0\u2018Lectureship (LS) only\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0He\/She may indicate his\/her preference in the O.M.R. Application Form\/Online Application, as the case may be. CSIR may consider candidates applying for \u2018JRF + LS\u2019 for \u2018Lectureship only\u2019 depending on\u00a0 number of fellowships available and performance in the test subject to the condition that they fulfill the laid down eligibility criterion. If a candidate is found to be over-age for JRF (NET) he\/she will automatically be considered for Lectureship (NET) only.<\/p>\n

Two separate merit lists, one comprising the candidates qualifying for the award of\u00a0Junior Research Fellowship (JRF \u2013 NET)<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0and the second of those candidates qualifying the\u00a0Eligibility Test for Lectureship (NET)<\/strong>, will be made on the basis of their performance in the above Test. Candidates qualifying for JRF (NET), will also be eligible for Lectureship (NET). The candidates qualifying for Lectureship will be eligible for recruitment as Lecturers as well as for JRF-ship in a Scheme\/Project, if otherwise suitable as per the eligible criteria of that Scheme\/Project. However, they will not be eligible for Regular JRF-NET Fellowship. They will be eligible to pursue Ph.D. programme with or without any fellowship other than JRF-NET. Candidates qualifying for the award of JRF (NET) will receive fellowship either from CSIR or UGC as per their assignment or from the Schemes with which they may find association. The candidates declared eligible for Junior Research Fellowship under UGC scheme will be governed by UGC rules\/regulations in this regard.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0final result<\/strong>\u00a0of this\u00a0Single MCQ test<\/strong>\u00a0may be declared sometime in the month of\u00a0March\/April, 2016<\/strong>\u00a0and fellowship to successful candidates will be effective from\u00a01st July, 2016<\/strong>\u00a0with the validity period of 2 years for joining the fellowship under CSIR Scheme<\/p>\n

Subjects of the Test<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

EXAM SCHEME FOR SINGLE PAPER CSIR-UGC NET Exam<\/strong><\/p>\n

CSIR-UGC NET Exam for Science stream is conducted by CSIR in the following areas: –<\/p>\n

1. Chemical Sciences<\/p>\n

2. Earth Sciences<\/p>\n

3. Life Sciences<\/p>\n

4. Mathematical Sciences<\/p>\n

5. Physical Sciences<\/p>\n

6. Engineering Sciences<\/p>\n

The\u00a0CSIR UGC NET pattern\u00a0<\/span>for the Single Paper MCQ test shall be as given below:-<\/strong><\/p>\n

v The MCQ test paper of each subject shall carry a maximum of 200 marks.<\/p>\n

v The exam shall be for duration of three hours.<\/p>\n

ELIGIBILITY<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Education Qualification<\/strong><\/h4>\n

M.Sc or equivalent degree\/Integrated BS-MS\/BS-4 years\/BE\/B.Tech\/B.Pharma\/MBBS with at least 55% marks for general and OBC-Non Creamy layer candidates (Central list only as provided in National Commission for Backward Classes website\u00a0www.ncbc.nic.in<\/strong>) and 50% for SC\/ST, physically and Visually Handicapped candidates<\/p>\n

Candidates enrolled for M.Sc or having completed 10+2+3 years of the above qualifying examination as on 25th August 2015, are also eligible to apply in the above subject under the Result Awaited (RA) Category on the condition that they complete the qualifying degree with requisite percentage of marks within the validity period of two years to avail the fellowship from the effective date of award<\/p>\n

Such candidates will have to submit the attestation format (Given at the reverse of the application form) duly certified by the Head of the Dept. \/Institute from where the candidate is appearing or has appeared<\/p>\n

B.Sc (Hons.) or equivalent degree holders or students enrolled in Integrated M.S-Ph.D program with at least 55% marks for general and OBC (Non Creamy layer) candidates; 50% marks for SC\/ST, physically and visually handicapped candidates are also eligible to apply<\/p>\n

Candidates with bachelor\u2019s degree will be eligible for CSIR fellowship only after getting registered\/enrolled for PhD\/Integrated PhD program within the validity period of two years<\/p>\n

The eligibility for lectureship of NET qualified candidates will be subject to fulfilling the criteria laid down by UGC. PhD degree holders who have passed Master\u2019s degree prior to 19th Sept-1991, with at least 50% marks are eligible to apply for Lectureship only<\/p>\n

For JRF (NET):<\/strong>\u00a0Maximum 28 years as on 01st July 2015 (Upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years in case of candidates belonging to SC\/ST\/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)\/ Physically Handicapped\/Visually Handicapped and Female applicants)<\/p>\n

For LS (NET):\u00a0<\/strong>No upper age limit<\/p>\n

SYLLABUS OF THE TEST<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

The question paper shall be divided into three parts, (A,B & C) as per syllabus & Scheme of Exam.<\/p>\n

Part ‘A’\u00a0<\/strong>shall be common to all subjects. This part shall contain questions pertaining to General Aptitude with emphasis on logical reasoning, graphical analysis, analytical and numerical ability, quantitative comparison, series formation, puzzles etc.<\/p>\n

Part ‘B’\u00a0<\/strong>shall contain subject-related conventional Multiple Choice questions (MCQs),\u00a0<\/strong>generally covering the topics given in the syllabus<\/p>\n

Part ‘C’\u00a0<\/strong>shall contain higher value questions that may test the candidate’s knowledge of scientific concepts and\/or application of the scientific concepts. The questions shall be of analytical nature where a candidate is expected to apply the scientific knowledge to arrive at the solution to the given scientific problem<\/p>\n

#\u00a0A negative marking for wrong answers, wherever required, shall be applicable as per scheme of Exam<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The test will be held at 26 centres spread all over India, as specified below: Bangalore, Bhavnagar, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Guntur, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jammu, Jamshedpur, Karaikudi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Nagpur, Pilani, Pune, Raipur Roorkee, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Udaipur and Varanasi.<\/p>\n

A candidate may opt for any of the above centres. No request for change of centre would ordinarily be granted<\/p>\n
